Nashville Flea Market

The Nashville Flea Market is so huge here. Ti introduced us to this big event while she was here last month. It is so huge it takes up the whole fair grounds. They have so much stuff there, from new to old to used. It is a lot of fun to go to and spend a few hours looking and seeing what they get in every month. The flea market happens every 4th weekend of the month and October is supposed to be the biggest one of the year. I love looking at all kinds of different stuff that you can find at normal stores. So here is our fun filled day!

This vendor has some good ol' food. They have all kinds of cookies and sweets and the best ham ever. I'm not a ham fan but I tried their way of cookin it and it is dang good and freakin' tender.

We had been at the flea market for awhile and we got so hungry and they had a restaurant there and had some dang good food. I got a hamburger and that sucker was huge and some fries to go along with it.

My daddy also bought me my very first Tennessee pumpkin at the flea market. Its not one of these in the pictures above. Mine is perfectly round and a big one. They also put food wax on it to make it look all shiny. When Angela saw it she thought it was fake.

We had a blast at the Nashville Flea Market!!!

Feliz Cumpleanos!!!

Because it was Mom's Birthday we just said lets go out to eat. No one wants to cook! We went to our favorite Mexican food restaurant, Cancun. We were walking in and mom and dad followed the waiter to be seated but I told one of the head waiters that it was her birthday. While we were eating I watched the head waiter talk to our waiter and I could tell he was telling him that it was moms birthday because he kept looking at her and trying to not be obvious while he was pointing her out. We had finished eating and I saw a whipped topped dessert and a huge sombrero, at that point I thought "oh no what have I done." Our waiter came out and put the sombrero on moms head and then all of these waiters started singing Feliz Cumpleanos and another waiter dipped the spoon in the whip cream and put it on moms nose. It was so funny. I wish I could of got pictures and video because I would of watched it over and over. Here are a few pictures of the laughs we had tonight.Oh by the way mom really wanted to go to Texas Roadhouse but was afraid we would tell on her and they would make her ride the horse for a big yee haa!! But we still got her when she had to wear the sombrero and the whole restaurant was looking at her. I asked her which one was worse and she said they were about equal.

Happy Birthday Mom!

Happy Birthday Mom. How do I even describe just amazing you are. Well I'm going to try so here it goes. You are one of the strongest women I know and I have strived to be like that just like you. You are sensitive to people's feeling but yet you don't take crap from anyone and everyone knows in that area I am just like you. You creativity astounds me from your pictures to your scrapbooking to even some of your off the wall sayings and I think I got that from you, well I know I got that from you because I sure didn't get it from daddy. Haha. Ok serious again. Ti said it right when she said you are so unselfish and it couldn't be anymore true, and that I can say I am still trying to learn from you. You are not only my mother, my mom, but you are my very very best friend. I cherish your opinion in everything from clothes to food. You are my mom, best friend, leader, example, hero, and now my pastor. I love you so much! Happy Birthday Mom.

Sweet Surprise!

Today my wonderful fiancee surprised me with some zebra dishes that I have been wanting for so long. He said, "Do you know how much I love you?" I said, "No I don't. How much?" He responded with, "Well let me show you?" He took me by the hand and walked me to where he was hiding them. It was so sweet. I have so much stuff I don't have any place to put anymore home items but I can some how I think I will find a way to make some room.

Aren't they so cute? I can't wait to use them. I told Travis now he needs to buy me a house to go along with all the home stuff he has bought for me.

Happy Anniversary

First I would like to say Happy Anniversary to my parents. I know that it was a couple of days ago but I would still like to honor them. Thank you to my parents who have now been married for 22 years. Both of you have laid out an example for what a marriage is supposed to be not only for me but also for my future husband. After Travis met you and saw your marriage he realized that a marriage is supposed to be fun and exciting not just to people who co-exist. Thanks mom and dad for loving each other so much and sticking together. You are both amazing and wonderful people who now have others wanting to mirror not only your marriage but your life. Life is what you make it and you have made life wonderful. Thank you!

Gasoline Madness

Friday was just absolutely crazy!!! Gas stations were running out of gas in just a few hours. Travis was driving home trying to find a gas station to fill up but there were none where he works and even where we live, mind you he works about 25 minutes away. People freaked out and starting filling up their vehicles and then filled up gas cans. Truckers couldn't bring in the gas fast enough. So Travis and I decided we wanted to go out to dinner Friday night before he went out with the guys for a little guy time. We took the Expedition because it had some gas in it but it was going to need some as well. Dad said something about a gas station on highway 70 that had just gotten gas from a trucker so we decided to go see if they still had some left even after it had been a couple hours. We get there and couldn't believe that the line was so long it was backed up to the freeway. Some how we made it into a line of four or five cars. We started waiting at 5:20 and the cars were backed up to the main street. We finally got to a pump at about 6 o'clock. We pumped gas for over an hour. The gas stations slowed the pumps down so slow that it took over an hour to pump 15 gallons of gas. At about 7:15 they shut the pumps down and told everyone that the gas was gone. By that time we had made friends with the people around us. They guy across from us was more than an hour late for a first date because of the wait to pump gas and the guy next to us was just traveling through Tennessee to go back home to Texas. He said, "When I fill up I'm driving as far away as possible." If we would of been one car behind where we were at we wouldn't of gotten any gas at all. It was crazy!!!

I took this picture from the gas station and the over pass was the freeway. Thats how far it was backed up. All the cars to the left were in line to get gas and the ones to the right were just trying to get past the madness.

This picture was when we got to pull into the gas station parking lot. We had already been waiting for awhile.

Gas prices were going up so fast that the gas stations couldn't even put numbers on the board.

Like I said it was just pure madness. Travis did get gas in his truck the next day when a gas station had received some and it was just as bad as this was.

Wildlife

So we were driving around in a residential area and all of a sudden we saw four deers, a momma dear and 3 baby deer. They were so cute. They were right by this house and were so tame. I actually got out of the car and walked a little closer to take video but I am sorry to tell you that it didn't work and all I have is a white screen. Here is what we get in Nashville a lot! The momma looked deathly skinny. You could see her rib cage plan as day.

Sunday Night Strike and Spare

Sunday night we had a bowling night for everyone in the church and we had so much fun. Everyone was extremely relaxed and comfortable. We got to know everyone on a completely different level. So many of these people have blossomed and hate going a week without seeing each other sometime in between. Everyone of these people are so extremely wonderful people and I have the privilege of getting to know them. It is truly wonderful. So back to bowling, I am probably the worst bowler there is, but I have fun trying. So here are a few pictures of some familiar faces and yes they are already use to the fact that there are flashes going off in their faces between Angela, Mom, and myself. But they don't seem to mind.

Me and Brooke seem to think that these are the best shoes ever! They are comfy and fun!!!! Just don't remind me that how ever many other people have also worn them with their nasty, sweaty feet.

This little boy is so cute. After we were done bowling and we were getting ready to leave. Camden said, "Well I'm leavin!" Katy asked him, "Where you goin'"? He responded, "I'm goin' to Ginny's house." It was so cute with his deep southern accent.
This is Alex on the left and his aunt in the middle. Alex is now a completely different person from the time he first came to Gateway until now. He is actually telling his friends that he can't go places because he is hanging out with his church buddies. How cool is that. And he wants to be so involved with the media department, I can't wait to see what he can do.I do not know why this picture was so overexposed but it just wouldn't work right. Anyways isn't she a doll. Oh and she has so much sassyness to go along with those looks, too. I told her daddy I would train her up in the way of living life princess style. She already has rule #1 taken care of, daddy is wrapped around her little pinkie. The most amazing man a girl could have. I love you babe!!

Camden didn't want pictures to be taken anymore. I asked him to smile and he said, "I don't want to!"

We had a blast Sunday night and had a great turn out. People didn't want to go home, after we were done with bowling they went to the arcade and played games for a while and some even stayed and bowled some more games. It was so much fun seeing people relaxed and in just a hanging out mood.

Girls Night Out Party

Today was the beginning of fall!! The wind was blowing and there was a chill in the air. We came home and we opened all the windows to let the breeze come through. It is also supposed to rain Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, I love the weather here.

So sorry that I didn't post all last week, I was just so busy with working and and planning for the Girls Night Out Party. I have to share with you what happened Thursday when all of us women got together.

I ordered plates, napkins, cups that said Girls Night Out on them. They were so cute!! I also ordered balloons, streamers, cupcake pics, that all matched the Girls Night Out theme.

We wanted something that would attract the ladies and say the party's over here. I think we accomplished it.

Sorry that the picture is a little fuzzy but its still cute.

Me being well...me!

My dearest Angela was a huge help to me. I made her in charge of a game and she rocked. She was a great side kick. Its you and me baby!!!

We had so much food and tons of dessert food as well. No one was hungry and no sweet tooth was unfed.

We had a lovely guest there, the gorgeous Brianna, and she also brought a snack to share and her plastic dress up heels and pink boa. She was adorable!! When I told everyone to put their heels on she got hers out of her bag and put them on.

If you can see I had my clipboard with me all night long. It was my schedule, rules for games, guest list, ect...

I had the women play an ice breaker game and I told them to take off as much toilet paper as they thought that would need. Some only took one square and some took half the roll as you can see in the picture. They then had to tell everyone one fact about themselves for every one square. We played for awhile and found out some interesting things about some people.

April was hilarious when I asked her to take some toilet paper. She took at least two minutes to decide if she wanted 50 squares or 2 squares. She finally just went with 4. She thought that I was going to ask them to stuff their bras.April and Katy were arch rivals when it came to the Yes! Game. Those armbands went back and forth. April just said yes and Katy caught her so she had to give up all of her armbands.April thought that I was going to have them stuff their bras with toilet paper. No but that is a good idea for next time.

April finally got all of the armbands. Its tough when you can't say yes all night long. I put my armband on, I had just gotten it up to my wrist and I lost it by saying yes.

The cupcakes that me and my mom made and those cute cupcake pics. Let me tell you that are are as good as they look.

Michelle brought this cake and she was the one who frosted girls night out on top. Isn't it cute!!!

This was the lipstick game. Everyone had to kiss a piece of paper and then they had to guess who's lips belong to who. It was so funny because some people didn't even know their own lips.

Katy the winner of the lipstick game!!

Brianna's high heels she brought for the game.

Here are some people giving us their best catwalk. The winner got a prize.

Of course Susie won the catwalk. We all knew she would.

These are the favors I made for all of the girls. They thought they were so cute!!

Girls just wanna have fun!!!

We had a blast that night and the girls want to do this at least once a month. They girls really opened up and really got to know each other.
